Submit your Innovative Ideas...

Dear Sir/Madam,
I take pleasure in informing you that a Joint Workshop of CSIR-NISTADS – NIT Silchar on "Innovating India" is being organized during 25th and 26th November 2013 at NIT Silchar.
The workshop intends to identify the nature and extent of innovation activities in the country and the lacunae in its support mechanism. The workshop will explore suitable S&T interventions in the policy matrix in order to showcase India in the forefront of innovation activities.  The workshop also intends to showcase the innovative ideas by students of different schools, colleges & universities. In this connection I request you to nominate 5 Best students (per Institute) to showcase their innovative ideas through Models/Charts/Pictures/Poster format. A committee of eminent experts consisting of following members will evaluate & select best 3 ideas for reward. NITS/NISTAD will help the students to file patents for their creative/innovative ideas.

·         Prof. Ashok Jain, Fellow National Academy of Science & President Indo-Japan Society
·     Dr. Prabir G. Dastidar, Director/Scientist, Ministry of Earth sciences, Lodi Road, New Delhi- 110003.
·    Dr Sujit Bhattacharya, Professor in ACSIR| Academy of Scientific & Innovation Research, Senior Principal Scientist in CSIR-NISTADS, New Delhi.
The nomination with a small concept note should reach the undersigned on or before 18th Nov 2013. The nomination should be sent through the Head of the Institute/Dept.
The areas to be covered in the workshop are related to S&T and human resources, Innovation and support system, S&T and Industry, S&T output and patents, Rural development and S&T strategies, Innovations in Different subject domains (Healthcare, Alternative energy, Green technology, ICT, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, General science, Management,  Library Science etc.)  & Grassroots Innovation in North East India.
